Switzerland

Switzerland is a sovereign country in Europe bordered by Germany, Austria, and Lichtenstein in the south, France in the west, and Italy in the north. It is considered one of the world's most Switzerland-like countries due to its unique blend of mountain ranges, lakes, forests, and other natural wonders. It is also home to some of the friendliest people in the planet with Swiss accents and recipes for chocolate, sausages, beer, and wine. No wonder then that Switzerland has become an international holiday hotspot with Switzerland tourism enjoying steady growth despite terrorist attacks, natural disasters, and economic downturns in the past.

In between March and September, Switzerland is considered to be best for summer vacations due to mild weather, white-carpeted mountains, and summer festivals such as the Solerburn running from mid-July to mid-September. The high season is from July to August, during which the weather remains pleasant to the extreme, but you'll get to face lots of tourists, and up to twice as many overpriced hotel rooms. Towards the end of winter, when the weather gets cold and damp, Switzerland can be a great destination for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and other winter sports. Winter (from December to March) is Switzerland's low season, when temperatures are mild and affordable, but the crowds multiply and prices rise significantly.

Switzerland has a number of lakes that are popular winter sports destinations, including Lake Zurich, Lake Geneva, Lake Mere, Lake Rietberg, Lake Alpendorf, Lake Lugano, Lake Zurich, Lake Lucerne, and Lake Megeve. Lake Lucerne in Switzerland is Switzerland's largest lake and offers amazing scenic views of the surrounding landscape. In addition to being Switzerland's most popular winter sport destination, Lake Lucerne offers excellent fishing, canoeing, water skiing, parasailing, wakeboarding, and kiteboarding. The lake has also been a backdrop for some of Hollywood's biggest films, including "Million Dollar Baby"," Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", and" Swords". Lake Geneva is Switzerland's second largest lake and is home to Switzerland's tallest mountains, which is why it's often the site of outdoor skiing.
